The Slovakia national football team almost made a perform record at their first appearance in World Cup finals as a country of that name, leading New Zealand 1-0 in group F’s second game played on Tuesday afternoon by the 90th minute but New Zealand got a perfect equalizer in the three minutes of added time to ensure they share the spoils.
Slovakia Striker Robert VITTEK gave the Slovakians the lead after Stanislav Sestak drilled in a commendable pass from the right. Slovakia was much in control for much of the much and New Zealand seemed to be doing the casusal duty of playing to finish and confirm the result.
But in added time, New Zealand Defender Winston Reid scored to send jubilations and surprise across the crowd in Rustenburg stadium where most people had already confirm the win for Slovakia.
The result while a big boost for New Zealand is a big relief for World Cup defending Champions Italy and Paraguay who also played to a 1-1 draw in the earlier Group F match played on Monday night.
