State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs ,Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, has said there is no need to rush a proposal by Youths MPs to start a youth development bank.
Youths Mps led by the chairperson of the parliamentary forum on youths affairs Mpaka Mwine said they are preparing a paper which when complete would bring a private members’ bill for creation of a development bank strictly for youth affairs.
Mwine noted that the need for a youth development bank bill is a result of inadequacies in existing youth programs and the stringent terms and conditions set by the banks through which youths funds are channeled.
However, Nakiwala says the youths should instead meet all the necessary requirements before accessing funds in the existing banks.
