Post: Driver
The Driver is responsible for safely transporting students and staff to and from school and related events. He/She is required to operate the passenger vehicle in accordance with the Operations Manager’s instructions.
REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER AND HEAD DRIVER
SUPERVISES: NONE PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Pick up and drop off students and staff at designated locations Ensure that all students who use the School bus service are on the bus in time for school and or related events. Maintain discipline on the bus and reporting any disciplinary cases to the Operations Manager for follow up. Ensure the safety of the passengers by preventing unauthorised persons getting on to the bus or vehicles, as well as using designated routes to and from School. Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicles both inside and outside. Taking note of and communicating to the School Mechanic when there is any need for vehicle maintenance or repair. Immediately report any potential security threat to the Operations Manager Respond to feedback from the Operations Manager, through DriveOam, to ensure overall safety of the driver, passengers and vehicle. Carrying out other duties as requested by the Head of School.
ACCOUNTABILITY The Driver is responsible to the Operations Manager for performance. He I She should understand and ensure the implementation of the schools Health & Safety policy, emergency fire and evacuation procedures. The job holder is also expected to comply with the policies and procedures of The International School of Uganda.
RECRUITMENT CRITERIA
Education: Ordinary Level Certificate of Education is required. Job related experience and knowledge: At least 3 years’ driving experience is required with no record of at-fault traffic accidents within the given time. Must be familiar with local traffic laws and area traffic patterns Must pass a medical and security check Essential Skills: Must have a valid Driver’s License with classes B, CM, DL, DM, DH Ability to speak English
