What happens when you cant practice what you preach? Well, you should ask the people of Kayunga and you will know why it is difficult for them to adopt proper sanitation and hygiene despite several sensitisations by the leaders.
It has been revealed that most politicians and opinion leaders in Kayunga district don’t have toilets.
The Director of Health Services in Kayunga, George Ssebbaale says about 65% of the homes of politicians and opinion leaders in the district have no toilet facilities.
Ssebbaale also says most schools, trading centers, hospitals and other institutions have poor toilet facilities.
He says only about 6% of people in Kayunga wash hands after visiting toilets.
