Suspected thugs broke into offices of 30 schools in Rakai and walked away with textbooks worth millions of shillings.

The district education officer of Rakai,

Haruna Kyeyune says the schools whose textbooks had been stolen are located Kakuuto, Kiganda, Beteremu, Kyotera, Kalisizo and Byabuguma villages.

Gavumenti accused of not providing security.

He urges the central government to provide security to schools the way it does to other government institutions.

Kyeyune advises heads of schools to keep textbooks at their homes.
