Uganda Democratic Party breakaway leaders open new office in Kampala

Efforts by Democratic Party president Norbert Mao to bring on board members who broke away from the party seem to have yielded no fruits.

The break away faction led by MP Lulume Bayiga has announced a date for its delegates conference that will see the group elect its new leaders.

The group has also opened its offices at Kalungi plaza in Kampala, saying it will no longer use the city house party offices for its activities.

Addressing the media today at their new offices, Dr Lulume Bayiga said the main party officials have failed to agree to their demands.

The ongoing DP problems stem from the decision by the party to hold its delegates conference in February contrary to the other faction’s plans of holding it at a much later date.
