The United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has assured both the central government of Uganda and Buganda kingdom of its commitment to ensuring that the Kasubi royal tombs are restored by soliciting for funds from the donor community.
Addressing journalists in Kampala today, Lazare Eloundou, the chief in charge of Africa Unit at UNESCO world heritage center asked all stakeholders to use this time to document all that will be needed to have the site back to its original status before a heritage committee meeting scheduled for next month.
Eloundou however says that Buganda must follow some prerequisites to ensure that the site remains a world class heritage site.
Eloudou adds that cooperation among different stakeholders is equally important in such a process to yield fruits.
