Insecurity and corruption among other issues have been cited as some of the stumbling blocks to business development in East Africa.
Although the various states have set up measures to address some of these challenges, alot of work is still needed .
Speaking at the ongoing East African Investment Conference, Minister for East African Affairs Hon Eriya Kategaya says these issues have led to low investor confidence hence the need to be addressed urgently.
Hon Kategaya also revealed that the conference was to introduce the long awaited east African investment award .
The award is aimed at promoting innovation and good performance in the private sector as he explains.
