The Ministry of Energy and Mineral development has today commissioned a 1.5 million dollar gold refinery in Kampala.

Victoria gold star refinery will help to stimulate the mining sector development which will add value to mineral ores and also increase mineral trade in the country.

State Minister in charge of energy and Mineral Peter Lokeris says that the government now needs to mobilize miners to excavate the mineral and bring it for check of purity and cleanliness for better exports.

He adds that this is going to act as a regional office of gold refinery, tapping the resources of the mineral rich Democratic Republic of Congo.
