The Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) has recovered 182 illegal guns and over 3000 bullets from Karamoja subregion since two months back.
The spokesperson of the 5th division of UPDF in Northern Uganda, Captain Deo Akiiki says the interruption of illegal guns in Karamoja restores hope in the region.
He says Uganda army has recovered AK 47and SMG guns. Akiiki says the Karimajong warriors have been using these guns to murder people and execute cattle raids.
Captain Akiiki says the Ugandan army has deployed heavily to curb the importation of illegal guns from Sudan into Uganda.
