The International Criminal Court (ICC) has announced its plans to prosecute politicians who rig polls in Uganda and other countries.
The ICC top prosecutor, Louis Moreno Ocampo has told a meeting of politicians in Kampala ahead of Monday’s ICC review meeting that election violence and vote rigging amounts to abuse of human rights.
Vote rigging and clinging to power is often the main cause of violent, especially in African states.
Ocampo cites experiences in Kenya, Zimbabwe and Sudan among other countries.
