The out going President of Jeema, Kibirige Mayanja has been praised for giving away his post to contest for a parliamentary seat in Busiro East in Wakiso district.
Kibirige stepped down in favour of Makindye West MP, Hajji Hussein Kyanjo during the third annual delegates’ conference of Jeema.
Mayanja announced his decision to step down from the party’s leadership on Tuesday at the delegates’ conference that was held at the Tal Cottages in Rubaga Division.
Mayanja Kibirige is going to contest for the Busiro East Parliamentary seat, currently being held by MP Susan Nakawuki.
Jeema is fronting Kyanjo as its flag bearer in the 2011 presidential elections, while Asuman Basalirwa is the new party President. Mayanja is the new party chairperson.
