The police has urged Ugandans to actively participate in the Uganda Police force Review Process by submitting their views at any local police station or office of the district police commander.

The review process which commenced in December 2006, with the ultimate aim of enabling the police force comprehensively review its operation and enhance its preparedness to tackle current national and global challenges has so far seen public consultation carried out under the process for over 50 districts.
The steering committee of Uganda Police Review Process has said in a press statement that some of the districts where public consultations have been carried out are Kitgum, Rakai, Gulu, Pallisa, Budaka and Masaka among others.
The steering committee says the public should submit views on observance of human right, crime prevention and management, public participation and involvement, and any other matter is related to the Uganda Police Force which people want to be addressed in the review process.
The committee says it hopes this review process will help the police force go a long way in turning the police force into a professional, accountable and credible institution capable with values based on community policing and respect for human rights.
