The Member of Parliament for Kampala Central Division, Erias Lukwago has asked the authorities in Kampala district to implement the Kampala City Council Drainage Master Plan to reduce flooding in the city.

Lukwago says many Kampala suburbs like Bwaise, Namasuba and Ndeeba flood due to a poor drainage system.

He says the implementation of the drainage plan will solve the problem of flooding in the city.

Lukwago, who is also the former Legal Advisor of the Democratic Party, says the leadership of Hajji Nasser Sebaggala has failed to curb flooding at Lubigi, another Kampala suburb.

In a bid to stop city floods, Lukwago plans to contest for the post of Mayor of Kampala in 2011.
