The newly approved nine Judges of the Uganda High Court have pledged to use all possible means and reduce the backlog of cases.

Some of the Judges approved by Uganda Parliament include Dr. Andrew Byabashaija, Percy Tuhaise, Christopher Madrama, Monica Mugenyi, Mike Chibita, Billy Bainamura, Hellen Abullu Abura, Yasin Nyanzi and Waiswa Musenene, Catherine Bamugemereire and Mary Arach.
Mike Chibita, one of the judges approved told journalists that the Uganda Judiciary needs to come up with a better management system where judges performance are evaluated regularly to ensure proper accountability.
Dr. Andrew Byabashaijja says that case backlog in the country needs concerted efforts of both judges and lawyers.
Byabashaijja says he will use his new office as a judge to work with lawyers and ensure quick delivery of justice.
Uganda public is closely watching whether the new Judges besides, reducing the case backlog in Uganda Courts will also help fight corruption.
According to the recent report by the Inspector General of Government (IGG), Uganda judiciary was ranked among the top most corrupt institutions.
