The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) will sell hundreds of goods/vehicles at a public auction scheduled for Friday June 25th 2010 at Nakawa Customs Warehouse Kampala at 9:00am.
The Acting Commissioner in charge of Customs at URA, Phoebe Lutaaya Kamya says URA will auction the goods/vehicles in pursuant to section 42 (i) of the East African Community Customs Management Act (EACCMA) 2005 and regulation 207 of the East African Community Customs Regulations (EACCMR) 2006.
In a media statement issued today (23rd June 2010) seen by Ultimate Media, Lutaaya informed the general public that all importers of vehicles and general goods that were earlier listed for auction in an advert on 20/04/2010 and have failed to honour the change of auction status by paying the requisite taxes to do it immediately.
The Commissioner says all goods/vehicles that remains un-cleared by today (Wednesday June 23, 2010) will be sold at a public auction on Friday.
