About 3,500 people from different parts of Uganda have been invited to attend the National Resistance Movement (NRM) national conference due to take place on Friday, 25th June 2010 at Namboole National Stadium in Kampala.
The Secretary General of NRM, Amama Mbabazi says the conference will be attended by NRM leaders in municipal councils, MPs, district chairpersons, NRM historicals and opinion leaders among others. Mbabazi who is also the Uganda Security minister was speaking to journalists at the NRM headquarters in Kampala today (Wednesday 24th June 2010).
The conference will be opened by the president of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Museveni in his capacity as the National chairperson of NRM.
Mbabazi says other people expected to attend the conference are the NRM Vice chairpersons, NRM district chairpersons, members of NRM national Executive Council, and observers.
The government has already beefed up security around the stadium in preparation for the ruling party’s conference and Uganda president Museveni’s visit.
Other Uganda opposition political parties have already held their national conferences and picked their flag bearers for the 2011 Uganda General Elections.
