Businesspeople and entrepreneurs from across Africa have been called upon to submit their entries for the 2010 Legatum Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship
The 2010 Legatum Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship is now open for entries from the very best small and medium-sized businesses from across 15 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
The Grand Prize is US$100,000 (about Uganda 230 million shillings) with a further five runners-up winning prizes of US$50,000 (about 115 million Uganda shillings) each.
According to the award organizers, winning companies must demonstrate visionary leadership, innovation, strong growth and a company culture that adheres to its core values.
“Winning companies must also have had an impact within their communities, either by fostering job creation, improved community living standards or by expanding into overseas markets,” Legatum said in a statement.
Companies can apply on their own or be recommended by another person or company before they are asked to apply so long as they fulfill the required criteria including revenue, profitabil;ity, size, location among others. More information here. eligibility criteria here
