The MP for Agago County, Prof. Ogenga Latigo is demanding for the resignation of the inspector general of Police, Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura over security lapses in the country that have been exploited by terrorists and killed over 78 people in Kampala last Sunday.
Ogenga was speaking today in reference to the bomb blasts that hit Kampala on Sunday night, leaving scores of people injured, tens missing and 14 foreigners dead.
Ogenga Latigo also demands that the minister of Uganda for security, Amama Mbabazi should take responsibility and resign from his position.
However, Mbabazi blames the opposition for the bomb blasts, because they are delaying the passing of the controversial phone tapping bill, Mbabazi says could have helped in controlling terrorism activities in Uganda.
Latigo also lashes at the government officials for blaming the organizers of the social gatherings for not ensuring proper security.
Latigo also wants the government to officially petition the African Union Summit that is set to be held in Kampala next week; to have more countries commit troops to troubled Somalia.
