The former Presidential candidate and president of Uganda’s opposition people’s development party, Dr. ABed Bwanika is advising government not to counter attack Al shabaab terrorists single handedly.
The PDP President General, Dr. Bwanika says attacking the terrorists will have far reaching consequences to Uganda as a country.
This comes after President Museveni announced that he would move to counter the Alshabab rebels, both within and outside Uganda following the Sunday night bomb blasts that killed more than 75 people.
Bwanika says the terrorists should be tackled by Africa as a continent and challenges delegates at the upcoming African Union Summit to prioritize the matter.
Uganda is hosting the African Union summitt from July 19th -29th at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort in Kampala.
Bwanika also appeals to donor countries to fund Uganda through trianing the police and security personle in better security and investigations if the country is to avoidf big casualities in such incidents of bombs.
He says many Uganda police officers are not experienced in issues of bombs and other balistic materials to the extent that many can not tell what a bomb is or how a terrorist acts.
