The Uganda Electoral Commission has failed to pay hundreds of people who were employed by the Commission during the up date of the National Voters register from May 3rd to June 18th 2010.
They were employed as parish and sub-county supervisors and up date officers who have not been paid their salaries since the closure of the exercise on 14th of last month.
The delay has been blamed on the failure by some of the officials to submit their bank accounts in time and update of financial records by bank of Uganda for the new financial year.
The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Eng. Badru Kiggundu says the payments will be effected by the 15th of next month. He says the processing of the said pay nearing completion.
The affected staff were registering voters in preparation for Uganda 2011 general elections.
