The office of the Secretary General of National Resistance Movement has postponed the election of party chairperson that was scheduled today to Friday this week.
The party’s Secretary General, Amama Mbabazi says the elections have been postponed because the election materials for some districts in Buganda and Eastern Region had not arrived by Tuesday.
He says this is why his office and the party in general have decided to postpone the elections of NRM grass root leaders across the country from today to Friday.
Amama says the Friday polls will begin at 8:00am till 1:00am and will be by secret ballot. He says votes will be tallied and counted immediately after voting.
The branch elections will take place on Friday, parishes on July 28 and the districts on August 2.
Mbabazi urges all NRM supporters to turn up in large numbers on Friday and vote their leaders.
