Women rights activists from across Africa have appealed to the international community to lift sanctions on Zimbabwe to allow people in the southern African nation to enjoy better lives.
The USA and a host of other western countries slapped sanction on Zimbabwe citing several abuses by President Robert Mugabe leader of ANU-PF whom they accused of abusing political opponents, taking over land from white farmers and rigging Zimbabwe’s elections.
The women meeting under their organization, Gender is my Agenda urged the African Union leaders summit meeting in Kampala Uganda to put more pressure on rich countries like United States of America to lift the sanctions, which they say have majorly hurt local people especially women and children.
