The Minister of Uganda for Health, Dr. Stephen Malinga has urged midwives and nurses to observe ethics while performing their duties.
He says the midwives, nurses and all medical staff in general are supposed to save peoples lives by oath.
The minister says during the graduation ceremony of any medical officer s/he has to solemnly pledge before God and people to practice the profession faithfully. He was addressing journalists at Parliament today.
Malinga further cautions medical staff against asking for bribes and getting involved in mischievous behaviour like knowingly administering expired drugs or refusing to treat patients because they don’t have the money. He urges the medical staff to serve the sick and abstain from mischief and corruption.
