Kampala City Council together with the Ministry of Local Government have finalized plans to have markets in the city redeveloped.
The project whose work begins in November has been launched and it is intended to offer the vendors better stalls at no fee.
The project which will cost over 75 million dollars will be implemented in 26 markets.
Launching the project on Friday at city hall, Kampala Mayor alhajji Nasser Ntege Ssebaggala said the vendors are now left with a duty of demarcating land where the construction is to take place.
