The Katikkiro of Buganda, Eng. John Baptist Walusimbi has described the late former President of Uganda, Godfrey Lukongwa Binaisa as a decent, suave and debonair man who was non partisan and democratic.
Binaisa has died today morning at his home located in Kizungu Zone, Makindye Division in Kampala district after battling a long illness.
The Katikkiro after receiving the information about the death of Binaisa told journalists that the deceased was a great son of Buganda and Uganda who the country has missed.
Walusimbi says the late Binaisa has been so cooperative willing to work with Buganda kingdom, political parties, government, his tribesmen, and every one adding that Uganda has lost an important asset.
The Katikkiro has further described the fallen former president as a dedicated politician whose services will be dearly missed. He says Binaisa has been a determined man who could stand on his feet and a politician who was above politics of pettiness, intrigue and self seeking. Binaisa was born on May 30th, 1920.
