President Museveni has joined the people of Buganda and Uganda to mourn the former President of Uganda, Godfrey Lukongwa Binaisa.

In a condolence massage this morning from Statehouse, Museveni described Binaisa as “a great leader generous and kind father.”
The statement reads, “I have received, with great sadness, the shocking news of the death of our former President Godfrey Lukongwa Binaisa. On behalf of the government and on my own behalf, I extend most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family, members of the political fraternity, the people of Buganda and to the people of Uganda.”
The president says Binaisa has been a very big unifying factor in the political and social development of Uganda. Referring to Binaisa as “a strong pillar”, Museveni said Uganda mourns not only a former President but a nationalist.
