The party members started jamming the party headquarters in Kampala on Wednesday to pick nomination forms for Members of Parliament and LCV seats, as required by NRM constitution.

The Secretary General of NRM, Amama Mbabazi says their party will hold its primaries on 30th August and elect its presidential flag-bearer in September this year in preparation for 2011 general elections.
Mbabazi says over 2,000 members and cadres of NRM have picked nomination forms for LCV and MP, a signal that more people are still interested and cherish NRM party to run the affairs of Uganda.

He says the party is verifying the academic transcripts of all people who want to contest for MP and LC5 on NRM ticket.

In order to pick nomination forms from NRM headquarters, the applicant needs to produce two passport size photographs, 20 signatures of NRM supporters, a nominator aged 18 years and above, two party members seconding the candidate or candidates in question.
