Manchester United begins their 2010 Premier League campaign with what should be a comfortable home game against Newcastle united at Old Trafford.
Man U manager, Sir Alex Ferguson will be keen to ensure a good start and has the squad of payers to give him the best result although his key defender Rio Ferdinand will miss the match due to a knee injury.
Apart from Ferdinand, Hargreaves and Anderson, Manchester United can call on the services of all their key players like Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick, new striker Javier Hernandez Ryan Giggs and instrumental goal keeper Edwin Vander as they strive for a good start to the season.
Though Manchester United have won only one of their last four opening league games, the opposition Newcastle presents is more manageable and last season’s failure to win the League, FA and Champions League (Man U managing only the Carling Cup) will give the Red Devils more hunger to begin on a good note.
Newcastle manager Chris Hughton knows the task before him as he brings his team to premiership football after spending last season in the Championship which they won with ease.
Newcastle striker Andy Carroll has been declared fit to lead the line, while former Red Devil Alan Smith is expected to shake off an ankle injury. These added the services of Jose Enrique, Jonas Gutierrez and the experienced Kevin Nolan, will give the Magpies team some believe that a result at Old Trafford is possible, if at least to reincarnate their last start Premier League campaign which was against Manchester United, with a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
