Officials from the Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited were today sent away by Uganda MPs on the Commissions and State Enterprises committee after the Managing Director of Uganda Electricity Generation Company failed to show up.
The Managing Director of Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited, John Mugyenzi was expected to appear before the committee at the Uganda Parliamentary chambers today to answer queries raised by the Auditor General on accountability issues.
The Secretary of Uganda Electricity Generation Company, Emmanuel Lubandi, has explained to the MPs that he had been asked to represent Mugyenzi, who is out of the country but the MPs led by their committee chairman, Reagan Okumu said he had no powers to represent the Managing Director.
The MPs on the Commissions and State Enterprises committee resolved to summon Mugyenzi and other officials of Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited next week.
