The Rapid Response Unit (RRU) of Uganda police has arrested four suspected criminals in Kampala and recovered two guns in the ongoing operation to stop armed robbery in Kampala.
RRU has also recovered bullets, iron bars and a bundle of keys from the suspects. The suspects have been seized from their hideout in Ndeeba, a Kampala suburb.
The spokesperson of police, Judith Nabakooba says the suspects are still at RRU head quarters in Kireka, Kampala as investigations continue.
She says the suspects will be produced in court anytime to answer charges of armed robbery and illegal possession of fire arms among others.
Speaking at the Central Police Station in Kampala today, Nabakooba said some of the suspects have been arrested in criminal offences many times and courts sets them free. She declines to reveal the details of the suspects because some of their accomplishes are still at large.
