Two NRM contestants for the Kayunga district LC5 chairman seat have been disqualified by the party electoral commission for lack of academic qualifications.

Those who have been disqualified are Boniface Bandikubi who is the current Kayunga district speaker and George William Muyanja.

According to the Kayunga district NRM chairman, Sazir Mayaja Nsubuga, the two aspirants failed to satisfy the party’s electoral commission that they hold A-level qualification, the minimum academic requirement for one to hold the post of district LC5 chairman.

Mayanja however says two other people who include Stephen Dagada, the former district LC5 chairman and Tomasi Mulondo the current LC5 chairman were successfully nominated.

The disqualified candidates are however dissatisfied with the commission, which they accuse of being exploited by their political rivals.
