The Uganda Land Commission has written to the Public Service ministry seeking for appointment of full time commissioners on the board.

About eight commissioners have been serving in the commission on part time basis, with only the commission chairman and secretary serving in full capacity.

According to one of the commissioners, Shem Bageine, the commissioners sometimes fail to hold meetings or execute their work in the field due to lack of adequate resources to facilitate them, which has led to backlog of work.

Bageine says the commission is awaiting communication from the Public Service ministry on the progress of the appointments.
