The Member of Parliament for Lwemiyaga County Theodore Ssekikubo denied fighting the police for a second time and has blamed the police for betraying him and taking sides with his political opponents that are plotting for his political fall in Ssembabule.
This comes after police rounded up Ssekikubo’s political rally in which he was reported to have allegedly battled with the police again in a space of about three weeks. Before this Ssekikubo caused havoc in the elections of the NRM District Chairman in Ssembabule when he came out wielding a gun in attempt to stop alleged malpractices in the elections.
However, the troubled legislator while addressing journalists at Parliament has denied claims that he battled the police for a second time in Ssembabule dismissing the allegations as false.
Ssekikubo says that when the police came into his rally, he never at any one time battled with them. Instead it were the police officers that were beating him up without any retaliation from his side.
He says his being beaten had been a build up scheme to force him into a fight with the police and thus taint his name further but which he realized and decided not to battle with the police when he was arrested.
Meanwhile the MP has also blamed the President Yoweri Museveni for taking sides with his political opponent the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sam Kuteesa because in a letter that Kutesa wrote to the president Kutesa threatened to use undemocratic means to fight Ssekikubo if NRM failed to discipline Ssekikubo. He says unfortunately, despite such a threat the President has decided to keep quiet about the letter that Kutesa wrote to him which is a threat to Ssekikubo’s life.
