Mbabazi vows to retain his NRM Secretary General seat

Security Minister Amama Mbabazi has vowed to retain his seat as the Secretary General of the Ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Addressing journalists today morning at NRM head offices on Kyadondo road in Kampala, Mbabazi said is sure he has enough support in NRM he will use to retain his post.

Mbabazi picked nomination forms to retain his seat on Wednesday August 25th from Kyadondo. The security minister faces four serious contestants: the minister of Uganda for Trade, Tourism and Industry, Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire, the Vice-President of Uganda, Prof. Gilbert Balibaseka Bukenya, MP for Lwemiyaga County, Theodore Ssekikubo and Prof. Elijah Mushemeza of Bishop Stuart University.

Other top politicians in NRM who have picked nomination forms to vie for ruling party posts include, Alhajji Abdul Nadduli (NRM Vice Chairperson Buganda), Captain Francis Babu (NRM Vice Chairperson Kampala), the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga (NRM Vice Chairperson Eastern),  Amelia Kyambadde (NRM Treasurer) and  MP for  Rubanda East, Henry Banyenzaki (deputy national treasurer).
