Police in Kampala have arrested a conman who was stealing offertories in a Kampala Based All Saints Church.

The spokesperson of Police for Kampala Metropolitan region, Ibin Ssekumbi has identified the suspect as Geoffrey Sseruwangi.

Senkumbi says the suspect was arrested during Sunday’s prayer services at ALL saints’ church Nakasero Kampala where the suspect disguised himself as a worshipper and grabbed an offertory basket and started gathering offertories.

He says after collecting the money he placed the offertory basket in his bag and took off. Senkumbi says all church leaders and members left the church service and started running after the man.

The police spokesperson says the believers managed to get the suspect and handled him over to police. It is said that the suspect asked the believers to forgive him as the bible tells them and they refused.
