The Anti Corruption Court has today morning acquitted three senior officials from the ministry of health of charges of drug theft.
The officials have been facing charges of corruption, neglect of duty and theft of anti-malarial medicines worth over two billion shillings.
The officials have been identified as Dr Myers Lugemwa, a senior medical officer in charge of National Malaria Control program; Martin Shibike, a program administrator in the ministry of Health and Dr Richard Ndyomugenyi, a program manager.
The officials have been acquitted by Justice Paul Mugamba after the prosecution failed to prove that the three officials mismanaged public drugs.
The drugs which the three health officials had reportedly mismanaged were donated by the Chinese government.
