The members of the opposition in parliament say President Yoweri Museveni who is the party flag bearer for the NRM has continued to use state resources and facilitation to carry out campaign which gives him undue advantage.
Addressing the media at parliament today, Aruu county MP Odongo Oto noted that on many occasion the NRM has been found of wastage of tax payer’s money to facilitate party activities which is unfair.
He gave the example of President Museveni hosting NRM members state house after the launching of the NRM manifesto on Monday. Oto said such acts are an abuse of electoral laws and state facilities which tax payer’s have to incur.
He further called the president to stop wearing army uniform during campaigns something Oto described as intimidating voters.
The MP promised to mobilize Ugandan to demonstrate over the continued use of state resources by NRM party and intimidation of the electorates.
The President has also been accused of using public service like the Presidential Press unit to undertake publicity and media relations for his party campaigns.
