Kampala central Member of Parliament who is competiting for Kampala mayoral seat Erias Lukwago has warned the electoral commission chairman Eng. Badru Kigundu that he risks being arrested of failing to abide by the court orders.
Kampala high court in October ordered the removal of polling stations from summit view Barracks, Kitate directorate of military intelligence, state house quarter guard in Kampala and also ordered the electoral commission to publish places which the voters register of the transferred polling stations are to be displayed.
However the Electoral Commission Legal Representative says they will appeal the ruling because there was no time to implement some of the orders of the court.
Lukwago says the Electoral Commission only transferred polling stations from Kitante and state house but failed to do the same at summit view and displaying the voters register. He says the electoral commission did not seek court injunction to the court order which they should fulfil in time before the election.
Lukwago says he is going to secure a warrant of arrest for the Electoral Commission Chairman Eng. Badru Kigundu for allegedly defying court orders.
