The African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME) has organized a Civil Society Dialogue on Media Freedom, Free expression and the 2010 general elections at Imperial Royale Hotel this Thursday.
Dr. Peter Mwesige, the Executive Director of ACME says the purpose of the meeting is to create an opportunity for civil society organizations working in the area of media freedom and free expression to consult on monitoring media performance and threats to journalists and free expression ahead of the 2011 elections.
“In particular, ACME is interested in seeing diverse civil society participation in monitoring media adherence to the election coverage guidelines that we launched recently,” he said.
