The aspirant for Central Kampala woman MP Margret Ziwa has asked government to create more awareness of the increasing HIV/AIDS scourge to the public.
Ziwa says that according to reports from the ministry of Health, the number of people getting infected with HIV/AIDS disease is tremendously increasing.
Ziwa says that Uganda should not lose its record of responding the HIV/AIDS scourge when the country managed to reduce HIV infections rates from 30% in the 1980s to 6% in 2000.
Ziwa was speaking to the journalists in Kampala today about the challenges of the HIV/AIDS epidemic following yesterday’s commemorations of World AIDS day.
The AIDS commemoration is held on every 1st of December each year.
