The Uganda counter terrorism task force is still investigating suspected bomb making materials that were recovered from a bus at Uganda Revenue Authority headquarters in Nakawa.
Police swung into action at around 8:30am today with police dogs that helped identify the materials on the bus that had just arrived in the URA premises.
The URA offices were this morning sealed off following the bomb scare and staff were told to leave offices and people who had gone to transact business asked to get out of the URA premises.
The Deputy police Spokesperson, Vincent Sekate the driver and conductor as well some passengers of the bus have been arrested to help police in the investigations.
He says Uganda security received information of about people who might be carrying explosives to Uganda and was on the look out and got the people in the bus.
The Gateway bus registration number KBK 902B, was arriving in from Kenya and went to URA for the routine customs check.
Sekatte said that the suspects were been taken to the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) offices in Kireka for questioning while the Bomb disposal unit continues to check the materials to confirm whether or not they are bomb making materials.
Paul Kyeyune, the URA Spokesperson said after a lot of panic, calm had returned to URA over the bomb scare and they expected the police to explain the materials.
Terrorists struck Uganda on July 11 planting two bombs which killed over 80 people who were watching world cup finals at Lugodo rugby club and Ethiopian Restaurants in Kabalaga.
Uganda has since been on high security alert as the Al Shabab militants who claimed responsibility have threatened to continue to injure Uganda for deploying peace keeping troops in Somalia.
