Uganda’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda has called for a greater focus by Security Council on the preventive diplomacy and peace building.
Speaking at a press conference on commemorating the end of Uganda two years tenure on the Council Rugunda said that Uganda has remarkably contributed to the working of the United Nations Security council.
He promised that Uganda will continue to contribute on peace and security efforts in the region.
Dr. Rugunda who in October served as the President of the top UN security body said that conflict solutions given by the United Nations in New York are at times ineffective in conflict resolution, and called for more preventive efforts that result from consultation and dialogue among countries and other key players.
