The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Gulu District Walter Ochora has said that this year’s Christmas is the most peaceful in over twenty years.

While talking to residents in Gulu town, Ochora said that since the rebel activities of Joseph Kony and his Lords Resistance Army were quelled by government, the Northern Uganda districts can now celebrate Christmas without fear.
The RDC encouraged the residents to settle on their lands and do developmental activities without fear since the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) are there to protect them.
He thanked government for the role played in making Northern Uganda peaceful and told residents to celebrate Christmas and new year with care.
