Anti Corruption Court Assessors want Former NSSF boss David Chandi Jamwa acquitted

The two assessors in the case where the former boss of National Social Security Fund (NSSF)  David Chandi Jamwa is accused of abuse of office and causing a financial lose to NSSF have asked court to dismiss the case saying that the prosecution has failed to prove the case against Jamwa beyond reasonable doubt.

While at the Anti-corruption Court today the assessors including Agnes Mugala and Silver Kakumba said that they see no reason why court should continue with the case where the prosecution cannot produce sufficient evidence against Jamwa.

The prosecution side in the case is represented by Sydney and Birugi Sarah while Jamwa is represented by his lawyer David Mpanga.

The office of the Inspector General of Government (IGG) alleges that between September and November 2007 Jamwa caused a financial loss of 13 billion shillings to NSSF by selling bonds before their maturity.

The Anti-Corruption court judge Justice John Bosco Katusi has today set 25th February 2011 as the date he will deliver a verdict on the case
