The Lions Club of Uganda has offered free treatment to patients of sight related diseases in Masaka district and the surrounding areas.
While launching the treatment at Masaka referral hospital the Club’s governor for Uganda and Tanzania Wilson Tumwiine said the program will cost 200 million shillings.
Tumwine says they have found many cases of eye diseases in Masaka but the specialist doctors are not available to help the affected people recover.
He says that is why the Lion’s Club decided to fund treatment for eye related diseases in the regions. The treatment that started on March 21st is expected to end on 25th according to the program the club’s Governor showed the media.
Lions club is an international organization with over 1.3 million members across the world. The club offers charity services to the needy people.
