The High Court has set Friday 1st April as day to decide whether the Democratic Party Annet Namwnga deserves bail.
Namwanga, who has been on remand since January 18th 2011, was arrested on allegations that she was funding the terrorist groups that terrorized Kampala last year. Before she was remanded Namwanga was working as a nurse at Mulago hospital.
Namwanga’s lawyers asked court to consider bailing their client saying it is her constitutional right to have a bail.
Namwanga presented sureties who included the DP President Norbert Mao, Kampala Mayor elect Erias Lukwago and MP Betty Nambooze among others.
The State Attorney Lino Anguzu however denied the bail saying it would compromise the investigations as the Namwanga is going to interact with other wanted suspects who are still at large.
