The Democratic Party President Norbert Mao has been sent to Luzira prison until May 2 when he will appear in court.
The strong-hearted Mao decline to apply for bail citing that he does not like to tire police to arrest him daily because if he is bailed out he would still demonstrate the following day.
Mao was sent to prison with other six opposition supporters who gave the same reason as the DP boss.
Mao is one of the 100 people said to have been arrested in the today’s walk to work demonstration. The FDC and UPC bosses Dr. Kiiza Besigye and Olara Otunu respectively were also arrested and bailed out.
