Uganda police hunting for war leaflet distributor as tension rises

Police in central region is hunting for unidentified man who is going distributing leaflets with information inciting the public to take arms against the government.

Central regional police spokesperson Lameka Kigozi told journalists in Kampala on Thursday that a man in a taxi with unidentified registration number plate at around 7pm yesterday, went through in different trading Centres in Luwero districts and Kayunga issuing out leaflets.

Kigozi says police has embarked on moving to counter this massage by ensuring the public don’t follow victims to the massage.

Uganda is currently experienced heightened tensions following opposition led walk to work protests, in which over 6 people have lost their lives, many have been injured and hundreds arrested on unlawful assembly related charges.

Among those arrested and imprisoned is Forum for Democratic Change President Kizza Besigye, Democratic party president Nobert Mao among other opposition leaders.
