The food and agriculture organization (FAO) has earmarked 32 billion shillings to boost agriculture in Uganda.
The outgoing FAO representatives in Uganda Percy Masika told the journalist in Kampala that 22.8 billion is for emergency rehabilitation program in the northern Uganda and Karamoja while 9.4 billion will supplement the ongoing FAO activities especially the cattle restocking program.
Masika says the funds will also be used to start 1600 demonstration farms known as the farmer field schools in different parts of Uganda
He says under this initiative, farmers will be provided with agricultural inputs to put to use the best practices they will learn in the farmer field schools.
